Meet Beth, the O.G. Sassy Diva!
A certified International Event and Wedding Professional (IEWP) and floral designer, Beth has been planning and creating floral designs for as long as she can remember. After planning her brother’s 5th birthday party as a young girl, she was hooked. Her passion for flowers and floral design comes from heartfelt time spent in the family garden with her mom, and she couldn’t stay away from their family friend's flower shop.
As a creative person, Beth has a seasoned history in theater that has provided her with many of the tools she uses to be creative today and further sparked her ability to design creatively, plan accordingly, and act quickly on her feet to handle event needs. Her style is not relegated to just one look, and she enjoys adapting to the many different styles and personalities presented by her myriad of clients and always putting her unique spin on the designs.
Sassy Diva Designs is 95% plastic and foam free. We actively do our part to lower our carbon footprint through our partnerships with local farms and recycling companies.
All of our floral greens waste is composted. We carefully sort out any items that cannot be composted and send the rest to the local green waste facility. Cardboard is either used to deliver arrangements multiple times, and then sent to recycling.
As a San Francisco Wedding Planner, we understand the impact that the floral industry has on the environment, especially with shipping costs and air travel. We make it a point to “buy local” whenever possible. This includes floral co-op Gather Flora and garden rose growers, Green Valley Growers.
We have a membership with the recycling company Ridwell which takes all the plastic sheeting that comes from the flowers we purchase. We are hopeful that we can join the conversation about ending use of single use plastics in the industry, but for now, utilizing Ridwell has reduced a vast amount of waste.
As far as coordination, Beth has a lot of experience and is thorough. We met virtually at least several times with Beth to go over the details. She traveled to our venue as well to get an idea about the actual venue. My husband and I were both kind of indecisive about a lot of things, so Beth was a great resource and was always forthcoming with advice. I really didn’t have any idea about what flowers I wanted, and by the end of it, I was exhausted with choosing. I just knew the colors and what kind of look I preferred. I sent Beth a Pinterest board and she executed everything so, so perfectly. We got so many comments about how beautiful our flowers were!”
“Sassy Diva Designs did a wonderful job for our winter wedding! We booked Beth and her team to be our day-of coordinator as well as florist. It was great having them do both, it really saved us a lot of time because they knew from our coordination meetings what kind of vision we wanted, and having them do both just lends so much flexibility to how our actual venue and decor were executed on the day of.
“Love the sassy diva team (Beth and Charlene)! We used their floral and day-of-coordinator services. Since the beginning, they were super accommodating when we switched venues and the day of the wedding. They can do the things you don’t think about as a bride planning a wedding. On the day of, we were ahead of schedule! We had so much time that we were able to get photos with every single guest. The floral arrangement looked absolutely beautiful; they executed my vision exactly. Things like this really made the day special, and I’m happy we went with the Sassy Diva Team.”
“I will never get over how beautiful the chuppah installation was, and I am so glad that so much of it was dried florals because it was easy to take with us and now display proudly in our home. As a bonus, one of my friends brought some home to her 3-year-old daughter, who is CONVINCED that Isabella from Encanto made them. The praise doesn't get much higher than that! If you are looking for a florist, I can whole heartedly recommend Sassy Diva Designs.”
“Flowers don’t worry about how they’re going to bloom. They just open up and turn toward the light, and that makes them beautiful.”
